Unforgettable Swedish Lappland

Maren and I have just returned from our trip to Swedish Lappland. We spent four extremely cold days in the Abisko village near the frozen lake Torneträsk and the Abisko National Park. Abisko is located 200 km north of the Arctic Circle, and it is one of the best places in the world to see the Aurora Borealis, or simply the Northern Lights. Unfortunately, the weather was not on our side and we had only one clear night to see the Aurora. We finally saw it near the lake on the third day, but since we didn’t have proper equipment we were not able to take any good pictures :( If you plan to photograph the Northern Lights in the future, make sure to bring a professional camera that works in extreme weather. Don't repeat our mistake! In addition to the Aurora hunt, there are other interesting outdoor activities in Abisko, such as ice fishing, dogsledding, and snowmobile riding. We tried dogsledding, and it was an exciting and unforgettable experience. I think the trip to Swedish Lappland will always be one of the most memorable trips for Maren and me.
